Casting description:

Gear wheel carbon steel castings are widely used in forging and press machine, mining machinery, metallurgical machinery, rolling stock, ships, hydraulic presses, hydraulic turbines and other large steel castings and other complex steel castings.

 

According to the steel quality, carbon steel casting can be divided into ordinary carbon steel casting, high-quality carbon steel casting and high grade quality steel casting and special grade quality steel casting. The carbon content in common carbon steel casting is higher, the hardness is higher, the strength is higher, but the plasticity is lower.

 

Carbon steel castings are not suitable to use directly due to low plasticity and toughness. In order to improve the properties of carbon steel castings need heat treatment to refine the grain and eliminate casting stress to improve mechanical properties. The carbon steel castings that are omplex shape and easy to be deformation and cracked need anneal; The carbon steel casings that are simple shapes with a thick need normalize; the bigger size of carbon steel castings generally adopt tempering treatment after normalizing; carbon steel castings that is simple shape and require high mechanical properties need quenching and tempering. Annealing or normalizing is usually done before quenching and tempering, while others are directly quenched and tempered as cast. The latter process is simple,short lead time and low cost. When heat treatment, the larger size or complex shape carbon steel castings heat up should not be too fast, otherwise the carbon steel castings will be easily deformation or cracked. The heating rate of large carbon steel castings is generally limited to 50~100 /h, and small carbon steel castings can be controlled at 100~200 /h. The annealing and normalizing temperature of carbon steel castings should be higher than the corresponding carbon steel hot working casting, and the heat preservation time should be a little longer, so as to ensure the composition and organization uniformity.
